Aquila Resources announced that the Environmental Protection Authority has recommended environmental approval for the Anketell Port development. The recommended approval provides for the initial development of Anketell Port up to an export capacity of 115Mtpa. The first stage of the West Pilbara Iron Ore Project, which involves the mining of Reserves located south of Pannawonica and a 282km railway, utilises 30Mtpa of port export capacity. The Company envisages subsequent stages of the Project will require additional port capacity. The ultimate port development will have an export capacity in the order of 350Mtpa.
