Crown announced that, further to its announcement made on 1 August 2012 regarding its proposal to construct a new "six star" luxury hotel at Crown Perth to be known as "Crown Towers Perth", the Gaming and Wagering Commission of WA gave approval for additional gaming product at Crown Perth. The approval is conditional upon the development of Crown Towers Perth proceeding. The Commission has approved an additional 500 electronic gaming machines (phased in over five years) and an additional 100 table games (phased in over four years), with the Commission to consider Crown Perth's application for the remaining 30 table games when it considers variations to the licensed casino area to accommodate the new VIP gaming salons proposed as part of the Crown Towers Perth development.
