It traces its roots to Sumitomo Group's centuries-old copper business. SEI operates through five segments, with the largest segment being automotive, which supplies wire harnesses and 58% of group sales. Info-communications covers optical fiber cables, fusion splicers, and optical/wireless devices. Electronics offers electronic wires, compound semiconductors, and flexible printed circuits. Environment & energy covers power cables and transmission equipment. Industrial materials includes cutting tools and sintered components. SEI operates across 40 countries, employing over 280,000 people, with a majority of consolidated sales generated in Japan.
