Australian shares are set to open lower, while Nvidia lifted tech, other sectors were mixed.

ASX futures were down 0.6% or 46 points as of 8:30am on Wednesday, suggesting a lower open.

U.S. stocks ended mixed as Nvidia shares powered the Nasdaq Composite above 17000 for the first time, while the Dow industrials fell. Treasury yields climbed after Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank President Neel Kashkari said he hasn't ruled out further rate hikes. Oil prices rose amid growing tensions in the Middle East. Gold prices rebounded and the dollar was little changed.
